What is the "Torrent Search" extension and how does it work?
This extension adds an action button to your browser. When you want to search for something in a torrent engine, click the button to open the popup window. Then, use the search box to enter your query.
The extension uses a proxy server to locate healthy torrent engines and initiates the search with all your specified preferences in the first engine. If this engine produces results, they will be displayed to you. However, in case the first engine returns no results, possibly due to server maintenance, the extension automatically switches to the next available engine to search for your query.
The log section at the bottom of the panel shows which search engine the extension is currently using to keep you informed. The user interface (UI) can sort torrent results based on their names, dates, number of seeders, and leechers. Keep in mind that modifying the ordering or search categories will require performing a new search.
recommended The "HexDump - Hex Viewer" extension for Chrome, Edge, and Firefox browsers

Can I filter my search results to a specific category, such as videos?
Absolutely! Similar to popular search engines, this extension allows you to narrow down your search results by selecting from various categories like "Application," "Video," "Audio," and "Game." You can even choose multiple categories simultaneously. A detailed list is available next to the categories section for more precise filtering, enabling you to fine-tune your search results.
Remember to press the Enter key in the search box or manually click on the search icon after updating the search category. This extension retains your selection even after restarting the browser. However, if you have limited the category section for a particular search, make sure to reset this setting for your next search.
Does this extension use my cookies (specifically those meant for this hostname) when interacting with a search engine?
No, this extension does not transmit cookies to the chosen search engine. It solely sends your search query to retrieve the original results. This helps the extension to parse the results.
What's new in this version?
Please check the Logs section.
What do the terms "number of leechers" (LE) and "number of seeders" (SE) indicate in the search results?
In the search result section, the number of leechers (LE) refers to the count of peers (computers connected to the torrent network) currently in the process of downloading a specific torrent file. These peers only possess a partial version of the torrent file. On the other hand, the number of seeders (SE) indicates the number of peers who have already fully downloaded the file and are now actively seeding it. When a peer seeds a file, it means they are making it available to other peers for download. For optimal download speed, it's advisable to prioritize torrents with a higher number of seeders, as they provide a greater likelihood of faster and more reliable downloads.
What is the most effective way to obtain the fastest torrent link possible?
You can use the "sort by number of seeders in descending order" option to achieve the fastest downloading speed. This approach ensures that you download a file that has already been fully downloaded by other peers and is readily available. If a file has no seeders, it indicates that the complete version of the file is currently unavailable within the network. In such cases, your torrent client must wait until at least one seeder comes online and is willing to share the file.
